About Me

Welcome to my personal website. My name is Will Dupree, and I am a Research Engineer for Aptima, Inc. In spring 2019 I received my Ph.D. in physics from Washington State University. Since then, I have used my technical training to transition into the data analytics arena where I use my skills for data science/modeling.

My technical training was focused in gravitational-wave data analysis research, where I worked to improve techniques used to detect merging black holes/neutron stars using the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) detector. I contributed to the field by creating novel methods to perform all sky searches faster, as well as removing false positives caused by detector noise. This work resulted in a publishing in Classical and Quantum Gravity. Further details of these works can be found on other pages of this site, and in my resume.

I currently use my abilities to perform research in multiple domains, aimed at developing and supporting initiatives to achieve Aptima company goals in their diverse project space. My current research interests involve the broad field of machine learning and data visualization, where I enjoy crafting creative and novel insights with a wide range of tools. Please refer to my resume for a more complete list of my skills and projects/experience.

Outside of the office I enjoy working on my physical fitness. Over the past few years I have had great success on my weight loss journey, while having fun with an active lifestyle. This includes weight lifting, exploring the outdoors, and traveling the world with my wife Kelly. I also have a large interest in playing and watching cue sports (mainly eight and nine ball).
